MENDHAR, May 23: A youth was today arrested by police for the alleged rape of a minor girl at Banola village in Mendhar area last week.
A police spokesman said that acting on a specific information a Mendhar police party conducted a raid and nabbed the accused who was absconding for the last some days. He has been identified as Riaz Ahmed, son of Abdul Ghani, resident of Banola. He had allegedly raped class 10th student, who is in his relation. The girl had gone to the house of their relatives where he was allegedly raped. Further investigation was in progress.
