JAMMU, Aug 12: Dr Richa Sharma, a native of J&K has become the first Infertility and Invitro Fertilization (IVF) specialist of the State.
She got Postdoctoral Degree from a centre in Bangalore as a Fellowship of National Board (FNB). Besides this Dr Sharma had expertise in the same field from Chennai.
Dr Richa has done her MBBS and MD in OBG from GMC, Jammu. She has served as Senior Resident in Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Delhi. She has expertise in endoscopy and also is a coveted MRCOG, London. She was in Max and Adiva hospitals as an IVF specialist.
An active participant in this field, Dr Sharma regularly writes articles and chapters and presents in conferences. She is a lifetime member of ISMAAR, ISAR, KISAR, FOGSI, AOGD and IMA. She is a reviewer of reputed journals and was invited as faculty in Coimbatore recently.
Currently, Dr Sharma is consultant Fortis Group of Hospitals, Delhi/ NCR. She has plans to set up full-fledged IVF wing in J&K to serve the people as currently there is lack of such facilities.
