Jammu, May 25: Drugs and Food Control Organization served improvement notices to four food establishments.
According to official spokesperson of Drugs and Food Control Organization, a team of the Food Safety Officers namely Rakesh Gupta, Ajay Khajuria and Dalip Singh under the supervision of Sanjeev Kumar, Asstt Controller Food, (JMC) carried out inspections of M/s Golden Sewian Factory, Ambphalla, Amritsari Kulcha Hut, Gandhi Nagar, M/s Jewel Hospitality and Entertainment at TRG Building, Bahu Plaza and M/s Handa Food Products, Phase III, Gangyal.
During the drive, M/s Golden Sewian Factory was found manufacturing sewain under unhygienic conditions. Accordingly, the sewain were destroyed on spot and notice for filing challan under the provision of the FSS Act served to the authorized person, besides improvement notice with the direction to upgrade the existing infrastructure immediately, has also been served to the Food Business Operator (FBO).
The above said establishments were inspected and issued improvement notices for complying with the same at an early date.
The inspecting team observed common lapses by leading food establishments with respect to poor sanitary conditions of their kitchens. These vendors were given time to upgrade their existing infrastructure.
The Food Business operators are hereby advised to follow the conditions of the Licenses and lay emphasis on safety, sanitary and hygienic requirements as provided in schedule 4 of the FSS (Licensing and Registration of Food Business) Regulations 2011, besides checklist available in the official website www.fssai.gov.in.
Lotikha Khajuria, Deputy Commissioner Food Safety, has further stressed upon the FBOs to accomplish transition of Food Law at rapid pace and warned defaulters against complacency.
