JAMMU, May 25: Two persons including a teenage boy today committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at their respective residences in city and its outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, a 24-year-old youth namely Anil Kumar son of Ramesh Lal of Qasim Nagar allegedly consumed some poisonous substance at his residence. In critical condition, the family members shifted him to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where he died during treatment.
The body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs after completing all medico-legal formalities.
Meanwhile, a 17-year old boy identified as Nazaqat Hussain son of Shabir Ali of Gujjar Nagar also consumed some poisonous substance at his residence this evening. In conscious condition, the family members shifted him to GMCH Jammu, where doctors declared him as brought dead.
The body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for conducting postmortem tomorrow.
In both cases, the concerned police have taken cognizance.
