Medical expenses have increased tremendously due to rise in prices of medicines particularly of life saving drugs but employees of the State Govt are still getting medical allowance which had been fixed twenty years ago. As medicines are not supplied free by Govt hospitals and they have to be purchased only from market at soaring prices. One finds himself helpless to purchase them as State Govt gives only Rs 300 medical allowance to its employees. Not only this, if patient is referred to Jammu district hospital then also one has to deposit fees for it. Keeping in view rising medical expenses present State Govt. should give relief to its Govt employee by enhancing medical allowance up to one thousand.
