SRINAGAR, May 28: Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president and former Minister Ghulam Ahmed Mir today said that promises made by the PDP and BJP during elections have not been honoured.
Addressing party convention at Pulwama in Kashmir today the PCC chief said what happened to the promises made by PDP and BJP to people during the elections. They sought votes to keep each other away from coming into the power. PDP misled the people in Kashmir by claiming that they would stop the Mission 44+ of BJP and BJP did the opposite thing in Jammu, but to the surprise of everyone in the State, it was all drama to mislead the people for the sake of power. Both the parties had a pre- planned strategy to get the votes and come into power by hook or by crook.
Mr Mir said present regime led by PDP seems to be very helpless before the NDA Govt at the Centre, because the Government is not able to take any decision of its own. One thing they have learned that is to take orders from Delhi. He said that every decision or instruction comes from New Delhi that are being implemented in the State by the PDP led Government.
Before taking oath PDP had made tall claims in Kashmir and BJP in Jammu with regard to development of the State, employment, their so called packages etc , but, what happened to those tall claims and promises that the BJP and PDP made to people even in the election manifestoes ?
“Let me tell you that PDP- BJP is a divided house and they are not able to take a single decision, what they are doing? They are trying to keep the people busy with their day today statements and the regular controversial statements by NDA Ministers,” Mir said.
He said that Congress Party will not watch the developments as silent spectators, we as constructive opposition will fight and make the Government answerable, won’t allow them to play with the sentiments of people, he said.
Referring to the relief and rehabilitation of flood affected people in Kashmir and Jammu, Mir said it is NDA Govt at Centre not UPA. If UPA would have been there, the situations in J&K would have been different.
Speaking on the occasion former minister Taj Mohi- ud- Din expressed surprise over the intentions of State Govt to provide ration to consumers as per 2011 Census report. He said Govt should provide ration to people as per population of year 2015. Mohd Anwar Bhat, Haji Abdul Rashid Dar, Mohd Amin Bhat and Farooq Andrabi also spoke on the occasion.
