Cong in strong position in J&K: Fotedar

SRINAGAR, May 30: Former Union Minister and top AICC leader M L Fotedar today said that Congress is  emerging as strong party in the Jammu and Kashmir State.
Addressing PCC functionaries at the party headquarters here today Mr Fotedar said that he was delighted to see the Congress Party now in a very strong position not only in Kashmir, but in Jammu and Ladakh also. He asked the Party cadres to remain steadfast in serving the people  and work for their well being and development  of the State.
Mr Fotedar said that people have realized that ruling parties (PJP-PDP) have failed to come up to the expectations of the people of this State. They have proved failure in delivering good to the people. The development works have stopped and people started raising protests against the present regime.
Fotedar was speaking in the meeting of  senior Party  functionaries of J&K Pradesh Congress at Party headquarters today, under the chairmanship of PCC president GA Mir. The former Union Minister was the chief guest on the occasion. Threadbare discussions were held with regard to over all socio-economic development, presently prevailing, in the State.
Speaking on the occasion, PCC president expressed confidence that Congress Party is a vibrant situation in all the three regions of the State. He said party cadre is intact in every nook and corner of the State. Mir  urged the Party leaders to move ahead with programmes and policies’ of Congress Party in the State.
Mr Mir further said that Congress being a constructive opposition always wanted that people’s issues must be addressed on top priority. “Our concern is only that people of the State  should not suffer due to the wrong policies of the Coalition Government.  We have and will always raise our voice against wrong policies of Coalition Govt  towards the State  and  the people,” Mir maintained.
Others who spoke on the occasion included  Haji Abdul Rashid Dar MLA, Mohd Anwar Bhat -PCC vice presidents, Farooq Andrabi- spokesperson, Surinder Singh Channi- general secretary,  Abdul Gani Khan,  Shameema Iqbal and  Shameema Raina.
Prominent among others present on the occasion included Abid Kashmiri, Irfan Naqeeb, Kadfin Chowdhry, Imtiyaz Khan, Dr Syed Ahmad, Shameema Sopori,  Yasir Amin Pandit and Amir Rasool.
