Govt committed to revival of cooperatives: Dorjey

ANANTNAG, May 30: The Coalition Government is determined to make the cooperative movement a success in the State and steps for strengthening the movement are underway.
This was stated by the Minister for Cooperatives, Tsering Dorjey while taking review of the Cooperative Department at Anantnag today.
MLA Kokernag Ab.Rahim Rather, DDC Anantnag Bashir Ahmad Khan, Secretary Cooperatives Hilal Ahmad Parray and officers of the Cooperative Department and the Cooperative Bank accompanied the Minister during his one day tour of the district.
The Minister during his tour also inspected Cooperative Bank Anantnag and District Hospital Anantnag. At District Hospital, the Minister directed CMO to provide convenient accommodation for medical fair price shop run by Cooperative Department in the hospital premises as the shop remains open round the clock for making medicines available for the patients. He also directed the Cooperative Department to sell the medicines on 5% rebate.
The Minister also visited Super Bazar Anantnag and directed General Manager to ensure sale of all goods for the common people as well as for the Governments departments on large scale to earn more profit.
Meanwhile, DDC Anantnag assured the Minister on installation of CCT Camera in the Super Bazar.
During his visit to the Cooperatives Society Kokernag, Mr Dorjey directed the department to prepare a comprehensive project for putting the asset to better use.
The Minister also visited National Cooperative Poultry Society Aukora Mattan established under ICDP Anantnag and the proposed site of Rs. 1.50 Water Treatment Plant at Kokernag.
