JAMMU, June 1: Bahujan Samaj Party remembered and paid rich tributes to Shaheed Amar Nath Bhagatji on his Martyr Day at party headquarter, Satwari Narwal Pain, today.
The function was presided over by Tarsem Lal Khullar, president, State, BSP. A large number of workers assembled in the lawn of the party office. Party president along with other prominent workers garlanded the portrait of shaheed Amar Nath Bhagatji and lit the lamp to start the function.
Speakers spoke on the importance of the day and recalled Bhagat Amar Nathji who gave supreme sacrifice for getting legitimate Constitutional rights for down trodden people from SC, ST and OBC had suffered a lot. In spite of approaching high ups and ruling Congress along with other allied parties did not come to the rescue of down trodden. Leaders from the communities memoranda and hunger strikes could not yield any result, it was only when Bhagat Amar Nathji offered his life for sacrifice by observing fast up till death.
They blamed State Government rulers who destroyed the social fabric by denying the social justice which may force the people top come on street which will be difficult to control by the Government . Speakers also pointed out that in spite of implementation of Constitution of India in 1950, Indian population still reeling under the old system of touch ability, atrocities on down trodden, discrimination, social degradation hardly any day goes when there are reported in newspaper.
Tarsem Lal, president while speaking said that Bahujan Samaj Party is already to its way to struggle to get the right for a human being as enshrined the Constitution of India. He appealed to the people of State to come under the banner of BSP and strengthen at grassroot level.
