NEW DELHI, June 2: Lead futures prices today rose by 0.56 per cent to Rs 124.60 per kg on rising spot demand as speculators enlarged positions even as metal weakened at the London Metal Exchange (LME).
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in July month contracts traded 70 paise, or 0.56 per cent, higher at Rs 124.60 per kg with a turnover of four lots.
The metal for delivery in current month (June) also rose by 65 paise, or 0.53 per cent to trade at Rs 123.70 per kg, in a business turnover of 1,102 lots.
Marketmen said fresh positions created by speculators following better demand from domestic battery-makers, influenced lead prices at futures trade here but weakness in base metals at the LME, restricted the gains. (PTI)
