Cardamom futures remain weak, shed 0.50 pc on low demand

NEW DELHI, June 2:  Extending losses for the second straight day, cardamom prices fell by another 0.50 per cent to Rs 795.00 per kg in futures trading today as speculators indulged in reducing positions, driven by a fall in demand in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in July month declined by Rs 4, or 0.50 per cent to Rs 795.00 per kg in business turnover of 25 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in June contracts traded lower by Rs 2.10, or 0.26 per cent to Rs 808.00 per kg in 69 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by speculators, triggered by a fall in demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position mainly kept pressure on cardamom prices at futures trade. (PTI)
