JAMMU, June 2: Terming Narendera Modi’s regime as beginning of an era of peace and prosperity in otherwise trouble -torn J&K State, BJP MP (Rajya Sabha), president India China Friendship Group and Member Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defense, Tarun Vijay, said the Prime Minister has boldly taken a historic decision in framing Government in J&K State.
Mr Vijay, who is on a tour of the State and left for Srinagar this afternoon from here to meet Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammed Sayeed in an exclusive interview to Excelsior said Mr Modi is last hope to bring peace and prosperity in militancy ravaged State. With his decision to form the Government in the State, he intends to bring development to the door steps of the common masses who have suffered a lot over 26 year long turmoil.
Mr Vijay said the basic mission of the Prime Minister is to eradicate the unemployment in the State, provide 24 hour power supply to the people and strengthen the unity and integrity of the country.
Commenting on Indo – China relations, the BJP MP in his capacity as president of India China Parliamentary Group, said improving relations with China will impact positively on regional peace.
Mr Vijay however demanded that the Chinese presence in creating new economic corridor in Pakistan should be taken up with Islamabad because it passes through the portion of J&K which has been illegally occupied by Pakistan.
On the India -China border dispute he said the talks with India and China are going on in right direction and India is hopeful that talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Chinese counterpart will bring tangible results as both the leaders have shown positive approach.
On Gilgit -Baltistan issue which are lying under illegal occupation of Pakistan, Mr Vijay said the Parliament resolution of 1994 is only guiding principal to improve relations with Pakistan.
The BJP MP said that during his meeting with Mr Sayed he will put forth a proposal before him that the students from J&K should be encouraged to have an interaction with students of China to have exchange of thoughts.
