SRINAGAR, June 3: The five day World Renowned Surgical Research conference, Asian Consensus Meeting on Metabolic Surgery -2015, being jointly held by Centre for Obesity and Diabetes Support Mumbai with Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences in Srinagar began here today.
The conference is being attended by eminent personalities in the field of Bariatric surgery from around 30 countries including India from June 4-7.
The event includes a live surgical workshop to train younger surgeons from India and Asia at SKIMS, Srinagar on June 5. The summit is debating and evaluating controversies in Baratric surgery on June 6 and 7.
ACMOMS is a groundbreaking initiative started by the Center for Obesity and Diabetes Support (CODS), Mumbai under the guidance and leadership of the world renowned Surgeon Dr. Muffazal Lakdawala, Consultant Surgeon and Chairman Institute of Minimal Access Surgical Sciences at Saifee Hospital Mumbai. Dr. Muffazal Lakdawala has been recently elected as the President of International Federations of Obesity Surgeons, Asia Pacific Chapter.
This conference is being held for the first time at Srinagar. The event is being attended by renowned surgeons from over 30 countries of inclusive of USA, Netherland, Germany, Belgium, Austria, Australia, Brazil, Middle East, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Chile, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Singapore, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Thailand, Srilanka, and Indonesia amongst others.
