Speed up work on 4-lanning of NH: Div Com

SRINAGAR, June 6: Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Samoon convened a joint meeting of BEACON authorities and divisional officers here today and reviewed pace of work on four lanning of  national highway.
He directed the concerned authorities to speed up the construction work of four lane project and remove all bottlenecks so that the work of the road will go smoothly.
On the occasion, the Divisional Commissioner stressed upon the Deputy Commissioners of Pulwama and Anantnag to compensate  the land owners whose land has been acquired for the road project. He was informed that 7600 kanals of land has been acquired for construction of four lanning Highway from Qazigund to Srinagar.
Various disputed cases regarding compensation were discussed in the meeting and Div Com directed the authorities to settle the same as early as possible.
In the meeting, the BEACON authorities were asked to start construction of tunnel at Zojila pass. The Div Com was told that Rs. 3600 crore would be utilized for construction of Zojila tunnel.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Chief Engineer Flood Control and Irrigation Kashmir, Director Geology and Mining Kashmir.
