UDHAMPUR, June 6: Minister of State for Finance and Information Technology, Pawan Kumar Gupta today said that the work for the up-gradation of Jib- Thathi road would be started soon.
In this regard, the Minister inspected the road and asked the concerned authorities to start the macadamization work.
Superintendent Engineer, Commandant Works Engineer Udhampur, K.K Ohja and Executive Engineer R&B, Rajesh Gupta accompanied the Minister.
The Minister said that better road connectivity is life line for growth of an area as it boosts trade, commerce and open new avenues. He said that the repair of Jib-Thathi road is the long pending demand of the local people and same has been prioritized. He said with the upgradation of the road a large number of people of the area will be benefited.
The Minister gave necessary instructions to the concerned executing agency about the upgradation work and asked to complete it in a time bound manner. He stressed on the construction of proper drainage system alongside the road to prevent erosion by runaway rain water. He also directed for plantation of trees on the barren patches alongside the road. He also asked the executing agency to ensure minimum damage to the existing green patches.
The Minister said that the funds for the construction of the road have been sanctioned with the active support of Sub Area Commandant. He stressed upon the SE and Commandant Works Engineer for early start of construction work of the road so that the people of the area may not suffer any more.
Later, the Minister also inquired about the stock and supply position of ration in the area. He exhorted upon the officers concerned to ensure regular supply of the ration in the area adding, that action will be initiated in case of any laxity.
