Concern over shortage of staff in Kishtwar hospitals

KISHTWAR, June 6: Congress leader and member Civil Society Kishtwar Shamsher Singh Bhandari today expressed grave concern over the shortage of staff and doctors in the District Hospital Kishtwar and other hospitals of the district.
Addressing a meeting of the activists of civil society here today he said after the transfers of doctors from district hospitals and other hospitals of the district new incumbents have failed to join till date affecting the patient care and medicare system in the area.
The meeting in an appeal to Minister of Health and Medical Education Ch. Lal Singh urged him to look into the issue and ensure that there is no shortage of doctors and para medical staff in the hospitals.
It also demanded that the latest testing facilities be provided in district hospital Kisthwar, Doda and Ramban as well as other sub district hospitals.
Bhandari said government should concentrate on medicare facilities of the people living in far flung and remote areas of the State especially in erstwhile Doda district. He said that due to failure of proper medicare facilities many times a patient dies on his way to hospital.
