Last rites of martyrs today

JAMMU, June 6: The mortal remains of six valiant  soldiers of Jammu, who laid down their lives for nation in Manipur two days back after the vehicle in which they were traveling was ambushed by militants, will be cremated in their native villages of Jammu and Samba districts tomorrow  with full military honours.
According to a Defence spokesman, the bodies of these soldiers will reach Jammu   tonight and from here they will be taken to their native villages in Army vehicles during the night.
A handout issued by PRO Defence, Lt Col Manish Mehta said the last rites and military funeral of  three valiant martyrs of the Manipur ambush will be performed by the Tiger Division in their native villages tomorrow with full military honour.
The senior Army, civil and police officers will join the funeral processions.
They included Naib Subedar Ram Singh of village Swankha More Vijaypur in Samba district, Havaldar Satpal Bhasin of village Muthi in Jammu district and Lance Naik Kuldeep Raj of village –Burn Gharota also in Jammu district.
The handout said that while Naib Subedar Ram Singh’s last rites will be performed at 1100 hours, that of Havaldar, Satpal Bhasin will be performed at 1300 hours and that of Lance Naik Kuldeep Raj will be performed 1000 hours at their respective native villages.
The last rites of other three soldiers Sep Randeep Singh of village Bomal Akhnoor, Havaldar Sunil Kumar Sharma of village Phal  Tehsil Sunderbani in Rajouri district and Sepoy Vijay Kumar of village Serh Tehsil Aknoor in Jammu district will be performed by Cross Swords Division in their native places tomorrow at around 0800 hours with full military honours.
