JAMMU, June 8:  Amid raising slogans against the  BJP-PDP coalition Government on completion of its 100 days of ‘misgovernance’, Panthers Party staged a sit-in protest demonstration, here today,  spearheaded by  Harshdev Singh,  Balwant Singh Mankotia and Yashpal Kundal.
Charging the ruling coalition with failure on all fronts and administering a series of severe discriminatory dozes to Jammu region, Harshdev Singh admonished BJP for inflicting a big dent upon Dogra’s pride by cowardly surrendering before its coalition partner on all its grandiloquent pre- poll slogans and its solemn pledges made to the people of Jammu ahead of Assembly elections. “Jammu people who were expecting something fierce and volcanic from the Saffron Party were utterly disillusioned with the ice cold BJP leadership who pusillanimously succumbed before the PDP for mere political gains only to disparage, malign and treacherously betray the mandate and aspirations of the people of Jammu region,” he said and reminded the discrimination doled out to Jammu region on the issue of AIIMS.
Harshdev also lambasted the State Government for termination of reportedly 62,000 temporary workers rendering their services on paltry monthly wages in various Govt departments, Public sector undertakings, Boards and other autonomous bodies. He regretted that rather than regularizing these workers after having used their services for years, they were being thrown out which was worst kind of exploitation. “If the Government had any objection to the mode of their engagement, the remedy didn’t lie in their ouster as the same would endanger their survival leading their families to starvation,” he said.
Harshdev also expressed grave concern over the pitiable plight of the farmers who constitute around 80 percent of the State population and are suffering immensely not only due to vagaries of weather but also the shameful apathy shown by the Government  towards their concerns.
Balwant Singh Mankotia and   Yashpal Kundal also addressed the dharna. Which was attended by Shanker Singh Chib, Sham Gorkha, Rajesh Pargotra, Gagan Pratap Singh, Ashok Randawa, Vishav Dev Singh, Dharam Singh, Karnail Singh, Baldev Singh, Parshotam Singh, Kailash Mohan, Anil Rakwal, Neeraj Gupta, Khajur Singh, Yashpal Manhas, Nirmal Kishore, Asha Rani, Jeevan Jyoti, Ravinder Jamwal, Aditya Hans,   Bhagwan Singh and others.
