Jammu, June 8 : Continuing the development process and his interaction with the people in Gandhi Nagar Constituency, Speaker Jammu & Kashmir Legislative assembly and MLA Gandhi Nagar, Kavinder Gupta toured Shiv Nagar, Dharap and Gangyal area.
Gupta inaugurated the work for upgradation of lanes and drains in Ward 56 of Gangyal. He was accompanied by the officials of PWD (R&B), JMC & UEED and prominent citizens of the area. The work will be executed by the Jammu Municipal Corporation with an estimated cost of Rs 4 lakh.
The people also projected various other developmental demands which were mainly related to construction of link roads, adequate health care facilities, water/power supply, sanitation, old age/widow pension, construction of community hall etc.
While responding to the demands, Gupta gave assurance to the people that their demands would be met soon. He said that he is broadly focusing on the development programs for developing the Gandhi Nagar Constituency and uplifting the living standards of the people.
Gupta asked the concerned officers to work collectively to ensure effective implementation of the programs being run by the Government. He said that the Government is working hard to strengthen the local self bodies in order to modernize the social resources.
Gupta said that participation of the people is required to identify development needs and to set priorities in integrated manner.
