JAMMU, June 9:  Up in arms against the delay in appointment of full-fledged Chairman as well as Secretary of the J&K Board of School Education (BOSE) and no action on their long pending demands, employees of the Board have threatened to boycott their duties in forthcoming exams if their demands are not conceded.
The protesting employees temporarily suspended their work and also held a token protest demonstration in the BOSE premises, here today, under the banner of Employees Association J&K State Board of School Education Jammu Division.
The protesting employees, led by the Association president Rajesh Choudhary, raised slogans in support of their demands, which include DPC for various cadres, implementation of transparent transfer policy in BOSE, restoration of Risk Allowance to the employees, regularization of daily wagers, implementation of  new recruitment and promotion rules for BOSE employees, recovery of amount, which is lying with the Education Department on account of supply of textbooks and appointment of permanent Junior Assistants in BOSE.
While addressing the protesting employees, Rajesh Choudhary alleged that due to unprecedented delay in appointment of full fledged Chairman and Secretary, a chaos like situation was prevailing in J&K BOSE.  “All the important issues are pending while the Government seems least bothered about the grievances of employees,” he said and reiterated the Association demands.
Mr Choudhary warned that if the Association demands are not conceded by the Government within two-three days, the BOSE employees would go on indefinite strike and boycott their examination duties.
The protest demonstration was also addressed by some other leaders of the Association.
