Former CM led thousands of NC workers to protest against PDP-BJP Govt

SRINAGAR:Thousands of main opposition National Conference (NC) workers, led by working president Omar Abdullah, today took to streets alleging that the coalition Peoples Democatic Party and Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) had failed on all fronts during its 100 day rule in Jammu and Kashmir.
The NC workers, who had come from different parts of the valley, assembled at S K Park near here and marched through Residency road, Regal chowk, Press Enclave and finally dispersed at Ganta Ghar in the historic Lal Chowk, nerve centre of the city.
Raising anti-coalition government slogans, the NC workers were carrying party flags during the march.    However, adequate security arrangements had been made to prevent any untoward incident  since large number of NC leaders, including former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, General Secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar, former minister Mohammad Akbar Lone and Mir Saifullah, besides former speaker Mubarak Gul participated in the protest march.
Mr Abdullah alleged that PDP-BJP has totally failed on all fronts during its 100 day rule in the state.    Describing both PDP and BJP as U-Turn parties, he said for the lust of power, both of them compromised with their known stands on different issues.
Yan Awao Mufti Tan Aiya Saktee(since Mr Mufti took over as Chief Minister of the state, people are facing hardship), the marchers were raising slogans.
They said the state government has totally failed to came to the rescue of victims who have lost their everything in the September flood, last year.
This was the first such protest march by the NC since it lost power in the state in 2014 elections.    (AGENCIES)
