SRINAGAR:
Life came to halt for about an hour due to heavy rain and hailstorm in the summer capital, Srinagar this afternoon, where a number of roads were inundated.
After pleasant weather during the day since this morning, weather suddenly changed in the afternoon and sun disappeared behind the dark clouds which was followed by heavy rain and hailstorm for about an hour.
Pedestrain had take shelter in shops and other places while drivers were plying their vehicles very slowly with head lights on. A number of roads, including in the civil lines and uptown, were flooded with rain water, disrupting pedestrian and traffic movement. However, sun again appeared for few minutes before sunset.
