JAMMU, June 13: Taking strong exception to the discriminatory decision by the authorities for increasing the course duration of B Ed, M Ed programme from one year to two year in University of Jammu, the National Secular Forum (NSF) today accused the PDP-BJP Coalition Government of pursuing discriminatory policy with the students of Jammu province.
Addressing a press conference, NSF senior vice-president Surjit Choudhary said that it was extremely shocking and equally ridiculous that the State Government has adopted different policies for educational institutions in the State.  He ridiculed the decision of introducing two years B Ed, M Ed programme in Jammu University, while the Kashmir University is having unchanged one year programme of B Ed and M Ed courses. “How the two institutions headed by the same Chancellor of a State could have different policies regarding the same course”, he questioned.
He demanded immediate withdrawal of this discriminatory order in Jammu University and restoration of the course duration for B Ed and M Ed courses as it is in Kashmir University.
Parmjeet Singh, Reshikesh Rana, Zulfi Singh and Amit Sanotra were also present in the press conference.
