JAMMU, June 13: PCC general secretary  Vikram Malhotra today launched development work at Mohalla Paharian in Ward No. 10 of Jammu East constituency.
The work mainly comprised of laying of tiles, for which required financial assistance of Rs 2.33 lakh was provided by senior Congress leader and former Chairman, Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Council,  Amrit Malhotra.
Speaking on the occasion,  Vikram Malhotra said that laying of new tiles in the streets of  Paharian Mohalla was the long pending demand of the residents of the area, for which they had given representation several times and keeping in view the difficulties faced by the locals, required funds were arranged.
He further said that more financial assistance will be provided for any sort of development work in this locality. Mr Malhotra also urged upon the people to keep an eye on the prevailing socio-political situation in the State, particularly in context to the Jammu region, where several wrong decisions were made by the present BJP-PDP coalition Government, which resulted in chaos and confusion among the general masses.
Prominent among those present on the occasion were  Suman Lata – Block president, Urvashi Sharma,  Anita,  Nirmala, Ajay Kumar,  Thomas Khokhar,  Pawan Sharma and others.
