DyCM visits upcoming Central University campus

JAMMU, June 13: Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh  today visited the upcoming campus of the Central University Jammu (CUJ) at Bagla (Rahya Suchani) in Samba district.
During his visit, Dr. Singh was apprised about the progress of construction work besides administrative setup that had recently been shifted there. He was also apprised about the immediate requirement of electricity, water and roads for the campus for shifting of six academic departments from temporary campus at  Sainik Colony to the upcoming Campus.
Dr. Singh assured the Vice Chancellor of the University Prof Ashok Aima of providing all assistance to the institution to establish and improve the required infrastructure. He also asked the University authorities to monitor the construction work regularly. He stressed the need to pay special attention on quality of work. He also asked to follow the guidelines for selecting the faculty of various departments.
Earlier, the VC introduced the deans, heads of the departments and other senior officials of the university to the Deputy CM. He also gave a power-point presentation about the progress of the campus building work, functioning of the university and its future plans.
The VC revealed that shortly six academic departments would be shifted to the upcoming campus from the temporary academic block. He also submitted proposals for the establishment of Kendriya Vidalaya in the campus.
Dr. Singh assured the V-C that his Government will seriously pursue the matter of establishment of Kendriya Vidalaya with the concerned authority.
