Electric Engineers for issuing remaining promotion orders

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, June 16: J&K Electrical Engineering Graduates Association in its meeting here today has demanded filling up of vacant posts of engineers from AEs to DCP by making promotions of inservice engineers on the basis of strict seniority.
The Association, while expressing its satisfaction over the promotion of 18 AEs to AEEs said that many posts of engineers are still lying vacant and they be filled up by issuing promotion orders at all levels.
The Association has made an appeal to Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh, administrative Secretary Power , Sandeep Naik . It said  by issuing promotion orders will not only dispensate justice to the deserving engineers but also help in speedy completion of various projects in the Departments. The Association said 34 posts of AEEs are still vacant  in the Department and Association has come to know that some junior level officers are trying to sabotage these promotions by misleading the authorities on the pretext of  getting relaxation in the qualifying service for such promotions.
The Association has expressed hope that Government will uphold service rules in letter and spirit  and it will oppose any move of extending relaxation in qualifying service rules as such a move is bound to be counter productive.  This way the essence of degrees from IITs and NITs will be useless as lower qualified engineers will take the drivers seat, the Association handout said.
