JAMMU, June 17: The Jammu Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee has urged upon the State Government to respond to the queries raised by the Central Government with regard to the comprehensive package for the final settlement of the PoK refugees.
In a meeting of the Committee held at Abtal Camp in Samba, under the chairmanship of Gurdev Singh (president), the members expressed strong resentment against the delaying attitude of the State Government. They said that about seven months have been passed but till today, the State Government has failed to reply to the queries raised by the Union Government about relief package of the PoK refugees as recommended by the previous State Government in lieu of their properties left out in PoK during 1947.
Mr Singh alleged that Chief Minister Mufti Mohd Sayeed has very cleverly shifted the onus of the responsibility on the shoulders of BJP by announcing the formation of committee to look into the issue, which has yet to see the light of the day. It is now up to BJP to show the proper concern in resolving this long pending issue of the PoK refugees.
