Governor, CM greet people on Ramzan-ul-Mubarak

SRINAGAR, June 18: Governor N. N. Vohra has greeted the people on the commencement of the holy month of Ramzan and hoped that this auspicious occasion would be a harbinger     of peace, amity, communal harmony, brotherhood, progress and prosperity in the State.
In a message, the Governor said that the holy month of Ramzan is a period dedicated to fasting, service and prayers and highlights the values of patience, self-restraint, tolerance and austerity, which promote feelings of compassion and respect for others.
The Governor prayed for the well-being of the people of the State.
Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, has also extended his greetings to the people of the State on the beginning of the fasting month of Ramadhan.
“This holy month is a period devoted to fasting and prayers and provides us with an opportunity to seek Allah’s forgiveness by renouncing sins,” he stated.
While highlighting the values of patience, self-restraint and austerity practiced during the holy month, the Chief Minister said the Ramadhan brings about feelings of kindness and respect for others.
Mufti Sayeed hoped that this auspicious occasion would be harbinger of peace, communal harmony, brotherhood, progress and prosperity in the State.
