JAMMU, June 18: Federation of Industries (FoI), Jammu has alleged that SIDCO was working against the industries in the region and unit holders who intend to carry out some construction work at the allotted plots, are being harassed.
A meeting of the Federation of Industries (FoI) held here today under the chairmanship of Rajesh Jain at AoI/ASSI Bhawan Gangal discussed the issues related to the land cancellation directives issued by the Managing Director SIDCO. The members observed with the great displeasure that the order issued by Industries Department on March 18, 2015 for the extension of time of six months for taking effective steps for the implementation of projects by the unit holders on the land allotted by SIDCO is not being adhered to by the J&K SIDCO authorities.
It has been also observed that SIDCO authorities are not allowing any type of construction on the allotted plots to the industrialists thereby defeating the very purpose of order and breach of instructions as already conveyed by the Minister for Industries and the Financial Commissioner. The Managing Director of SIDCO owes an explanation for bringing the industrial development at grinding halt by not allowing the entrepreneurs to implement the projects and taking affective steps.
It is also fact that some of the unit holders had to sell/ transfer the land due to their personal financial problems for which the Government had itself made a transfer policy. Further, there is considerable delay in the sanction of power supply in favour of unit holders. FoI has come to know that SIDCO wants to cancel the vacant plots along with the projects under implementation where the construction work is going on for the reason best known to the concerned officials. The Federation has sought immediate intervention of the Industries Minister Chander Parkash into the matter.
Prominent among others present in the meeting included Lalit Mahajan, Vijay Aggarwal, Devinder Verma, Romesh Badyal, Rakesh Bhat and S B Abrol.
