MENDHAR, June 19: Harni village of Mendhar and its surrounding hamlets are without water supply for the last over one month.
The residents of New Harni, and about half a dozen Morhas are suffering badly due to failure of PHE water supply. The villagers alleged that water pumping station at the village went out of order about four weeks ago but the concerned PHE authorities failed to get it repaired and restore supply. The matter was brought to the notice of concerned JE, AE and even the AEE PHE Mendhar but they have not taken this matter seriously. The public is badly suffering during these hot summer days. No alternate water supply has been ensured by the PHE Department. The people are dependent on a few local sources and fetching water after covering long distance.
The power supply to Morha Kallar village has also been snapped for the last one week as the transformer has gone out of order. The PDD authorities failed to replace the same and the people are badly hit.
