SRINAGAR : An undertrial Pakistani militant and a police constable were killed and four security personnel injured in a blast inside a police vehicle escorting the prisoner in Sopore town of North Kashmir today.
The prisoner, Wahid Noor Khan, was being escorted to Central Jail Srinagar, police sources said. He died due to the explosion inside the police vehicle, they said.
Constable Abdul Majid, who was injured in the blast, succumbed at a hospital during treatment.
Khan was arrested in connection with a militancy-related case of 2010 and was scheduled to appear before a Sessions court in Sopore.
The sources said that four policemen are admitted to SKIMS hospital here. (AGENCIES)
