CS reviews status of Swachh Vidyalaya drive

SRINAGAR, June 26: Chief Secretary, Iqbal Khandey today held a video conference with DCs to review the implementation of the Swachh Vidyalaya (Clean School) drive in schools across the State.
Swachh Vidyalya is a national campaign to ensure that every school in the country has a functional toilet & water facility by June 30.
During the video conference, Chief Secretary interacted with the DCs, urging them to ensure that all schools in their respective districts have a functional toilet and water facility available in or just near the school premises.
“With just few days remaining in completing the target, all DCs must ensure construction/ restoration work on all the newly sanctioned toilets, old toilets, and dysfunctional toilets completed before June 30”, he asserted, adding that figures suggest that special effort from all concerned officers is needed to achieve the target.
Meanwhile, Chief Secretary asked both the Divisional Commissioners to monitor the progress continuously with DCs.
Principal Secretary, Planning & Development, B R Sharma, Commissioner Secretary, School Education, Shaleen Kabra, Divisional Commissioner’s, Jammu, Kashmir, Secretary PHE, Secretary Rural Development, Director’s School Education, Jammu, Kashmir, all Chief Education Officers and other senior officers participated in the meeting.
