Khurshid Ganai reviews functioning of I&C Deptt

SAMBA, June 26: Financial Commissioner Industries and Commerce, Khurshid Ahmed Ganai today said that the Government has decided to establish Industrial Estates in all districts.
Chairing a meeting here today, the FC, I&C while underlining the need for creation of Land Banks for setting up of Industrial Estates in all the districts, asked General Managers to liaison with the concerned Deputy Commissioners for identification of the State land for the purpose
Stressing on effective implementation of “Ease of Doing Business” directives, he said that efforts should be made to ensure that the procedures are streamlined and made less cumbersome to create conducive environment for growth of industries in Jammu and Kashmir.
Deputy Commissioner, Samba, Sheetal Nanda, Director Industries & Commerce,  Joint Director Industries & Commerce, Jammu, Joint Director, Handicrafts, Dy. Director Handloom, General Managers of District Industries Centres of Jammu Province,   representative of Managing Director, SIDCO & Managing Director, SICOP, besides other officers were  also present in the meeting.
Outlining the need for better implementation of “Ease of Doing Business”, Financial Commissioner said that industries have a pivotal role in state’s economy and earnest efforts have be made to make the system time bound, transparent and hassle free. He stressed on removing the bottlenecks, so that stakeholders do not face difficulties and cases related to establishment   of new and expansion of existing industrial units are expeditiously disposed of.
He stressed on better implementation of online services and online registrations of EM-I and EM-II to simplify the procedure for the entrepreneurs.
While reviewing the functioning of Handicraft and Handloom Departments  Ganai directed Joint Director Handicrafts and other concerned officers to submit proposals for improving Handicraft and Handloom products and better implementation of schemes for the same. He also asked for imparting better trainings and logistic assistance to the artisans to promote the handicraft and generate revenue.
Earlier, while reviewing the progress of land acquisition for phase-III in District Samba, the Deputy Commissioner briefed the FC on the progress achieved and also discussed different bottle necks in handing over the possession of the land of phase-III for development of Industrial Estate.
