Brother-sister buried alive under debris

JAMMU, June 26: Two labourers died today after they were buried alive under the debris in a nullah in Belicharana area of Satwari.
According to a police spokesperson, a brother and a sister were busy in digging work this afternoon when a heap of mud removed by the JCB machine fell on them in Belicharana area of city outskirts.
He said the duo was buried under the debris. On getting information a police team led by SHO Satwari, Inspector Manjeet Singh and SDPO Gandhi Nagar, Sachin Gupta reached the spot and launched rescue operation. The duo was immediately rescued and shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where doctors declared them as brought dead.
The deceased were identified as Raj Kumar (19) son of Hari Ram and his sister Soma Devi (32), both residents of village Karela, Chattarpur, Madhya Pradesh. Presently, they were living in Sanjay Nagar in Jammu and were working as labourers.
A case in this regard has been registered at concerned police station and investigations started.
