MENDHAR, June 26: Following a strong protest by locals against supply of contaminated drinking water in Kayra Galota, authorities ordered suspension of PHE Supervisor and issued show cause notice to the concerned Junior Engineer.
Reports said that villagers held a strong protest demonstration against the PHE authorities and alleged that contaminated drinking water was being supplied to them from a natural source where some animals were found dead. Due to consumption of contaminated water, a number of villagers had fallen ill, they claimed.
The protest was called off only after the concerned AEE of PHE, Shoukat Choudhary reached the spot and after verifying the facts, ordered suspension of erring Supervisor Nazir Hussain besides show cause notice to JE Javed Bhatti.
