Box office clash not for us: SRK on Salman

MUMBAI, June 30:  Shah Rukh and Salman Khan are set to be pitted against each other at the box-office next year but King Khan feels that their clash is only limited to the theatrical releases of “Raees” and “Sultan”.
“I am as excited as you are about the clash that is going to happen. But it is not a clash. The business will get divided, but we are such good friends that we will do everything together… So we will release our films together too. There is nothing like a clash (for us),” Shah Rukh told reporters here at an event last night.
“There are 54 Fridays and we make 200 films so it (clash) is bound to happen as some films are going to release on the same day,” the 49-year-old star reasoned.
Directed by Rahul Dholakia, “Raees” an action-thriller, has SRK paired opposite Pakistani actress Mahira Khan along with Farhan Akhtar and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. While Salman’s ‘Sultan’ will be produced by Aditya Chopra.
“Most of the people involved in both the films are friends… Like Adi is producing it and Salman Khan is acting in it, Excel (Entertainment) and Red Chillies are doing (“Raees”)…I am a part of it.
“As far as the whole team on both sides is concerned we are all loving, respectable and friendly people. So we will work out things…(in a way) that we get the business time possible,” he said.
SRK had also released the first look of Salman’s upcoming film “Bajrangi Bhaijaan” and thinks the film will be fantastic.
“I really liked the poster. I saw the trailer and I am happy it is fantastic… Inshallah the film will also be fantastic. It was nice to release the poster it looked very cool… Salman looked as cool as he always does,” he said.
At the trailer launch, Salman had thanked King Khan and Aamir Khan for their support.
“I loved what they did for me. Lots of love and respect to them. It’s because of Aamir and Shah Rukh that our film (Bajrangi Bhaijaan) has got eyeballs… Extra interest. They are my buddy brothers,” Salman had said.
In 2006, Shah Rukh’s “Don” and Salman’s “Jaan-E-Mann” had released around the same time. While Don was a hit, the latter failed to create magic at the box office. (PTI)
