Jammu, June 30: The Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Dr Pawan Kotwal today discussed local issues with civil society members of Bagh Jogian, Bishnah here at a meeting also attended by IG Jammu, Danish Rana, DC Jammu, Simrandeep Singh, DIG Jammu, Ashkoor Wani and other senior officers of district administration.
The civil society members, representing different communities and sections of society of the locality, particularly discussed the issue of holding annual wrestling match in the area.
The representatives presented their view points and the meeting unanimously decided to hold the annual sports event near local tube-well, located adjacent to the disputed land.
The Divisional Commis-sioner appreciated the residents for amicably selecting a suitable spot for holding the annual event and avoiding confrontation.
Meanwhile, the Divisional Commissioner constituted a committee headed by Deputy Commissioner Jammu to look into the revenue records to ascertain the actual position of the disputed land- the case of which is in the court of law.
The Div Com asked the committee to complete whole exercise and collect all revenue records in three months for presenting the same before the court of law so that the issue is settled once for all.
However, representatives of Thappa Biradari denied that any agreement has been reached on the issue.
