Workshop on climate change organized

SAMBA, June 30: One day workshop cum training programme was organized today by Advance Centre for Rainfed Agriculture, Rakh Dhiansar of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology Jammu in village Khaner of Purmandal block, district Samba, under the guidance of  Dr. J.P. Sharma, Director Research, SKUAST-J.
The village was adopted to promulgate awareness about impact of climate change on rainfed agriculture and disseminate agro-techniques resilient to climate change under National Initiative on Climate Resilient Agriculture (NICRA) sponsored by Central Research Institute of Dryland Agriculture, Hyderabad. Dr Anil Kumar Sharma, Incharge Advance Centre for Rainfed Agriculture, Rakh Dhiansar addressed the gathering of farmers about impact on agriculture under scenario of changing climate and possible avenues available to farming community. A team of expert scientists from different disciplines comprising Dr. Vikas Abrol, Sr. Scientist, Dr P.K.Rai Sr. Scientist, Dr. Jai Kumar, Jr. Scientist and Dr Brinder Singh, Jr. Scientist deliberated upon technologies pertaining to sowing of Kharif crops.
