3 narco smugglers held with 92 kg bhukki

RAMBAN, June 30: Keeping hawks eye over the persons indulged in smuggling of drugs and psychotropic substances in the district, Batote police nabbed three narcotic smugglers and recovered 92 kilograms of poppy straw from their possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Batote police station laid a naka at Amar Chasma and intercepted a Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK12-2961.
During checking, police recovered 80 kilograms of poppy straw and arrested the driver of the vehicle on the spot.
The accused has been identified as Muzahir Shah, son of Manzoor Shah of Bakori, district Rajouri.
Meanwhile, Batote police also recovered 12 kilograms of poppy straw from the possession of two persons.
The narcotic smugglers have been identified as Ejaz Ahmed, son of Mohammad Sabir and Muzaffar Ahmed, son of Gul Mohammad Shah, both residents of Chorath, Qazigund.
Cases under FIR numbers 68/15 and 69/15 under Section 8/15 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act have been registered at police station Batote and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Batote police station Inspector Arun Kotwal made the arrest under the supervision of Mohammad Rafiq Choudhary, DySP Headquarters Ramban and Randeep Kumar, SSP Ramban.
