Officers will be judged on integrity and performance: J-K CM

SRINAGAR:
Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today said the officers of Jammu and Kashmir Government will be solely judged on their integrity and performance in improving the public delivery mechanism in the state.
The biggest drawback in the system has been the inability of the officers to utilise the available resources fully, a trend that needs to be reversed immediately, Sayeed said hours after 63 employees were shown the door by his Government.
“Being honest is commendable, but I want results and for that you will have to deliver on ground,” he said while addressing the officers during the District Development Board (DDB) meetings of Srinagar and Budgam here.
Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh, Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu, former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who is MLA from Beerwah in Budgam and other legislators from the two districts attended the meeting.
The Rs 120.8 crore annual plan for Srinagar district was approved and a Capital Expenditure Plan outlay of Rs 168.02 crore for Budgam district was passed in the meetings.
Terming Srinagar as the crown of Kashmir Valley, the chief minister announced an additional Rs 20 crore to the proposed Capital Expenditure Plan of Rs 100.8 crore for the summer capital this year. (AGENCIES)
