JAMMU, July1: Ahead of the meeting of the District Development Board for Jammu, the Raghunath Bazar Businessmen Association has appealed the Chief Minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed for initiating measures for early completion of Raghunath Bazar beautification project that was initiated by the Governor N N Vohra during 2009-10 with the cost of Rs 6.67 crore.
While speaking in the meeting of the members RBBA president, Baldev Khullar said that the funds to the tune of Rs 4 crore have already been spent on the project and the balance amount of Rs 2.67 crore should also be released for the completion of the said project. He said that projects related to the beautification of Jammu should be taken on priority by the Chief Minister and his Government. Mr Khullar pointed out that these projects have already been delayed and all such projects should be expedited.
Giving details of the RN Bazar project, Khullar said that the project includes erecting of 36 pillars of carved stone to be installed on both sides of the Raghunath Bazar. It also includes fixing of 10 in number Lion Mouthed drinking water taps, providing filtered potable water to the public and fixing of pink and red coloured Dholpuri stones on footpaths on both sides. The department has also proposed to install ornamental heritage lights in and around the adjoining markets of Raghunath Bazar.
The RBBA has also demanded installation of CCTV system and an instrumental music system in the Raghunath Bazar.
Prominent among others present in the meeting included Mohit Gupta, M M Sharma, Sanjay Sethi, Ashwani Kohli, Amit Kapoor, Bhuvneshwar Gandotra, OP Mahajan, Virinder Puri and K L Bhalla.
