JAMMU, July 4: Director, Kishtwar Campus, University of Jammu Prof Shohab Inayat Malik today met Minister of Education Naeem Akhter and apprised him about various problems being faced by offsite campuses of Jammu University.
Director informed the Minister that State Government has not yet released the second installment of grants due to which campuses are facing acute financial crunch. The salaries of the employees were not disbursed for the last two months. He was also informed about the construction work at various campuses which has been stopped due to the non-release of second installment by UGC.
Prof Shohab also informed the Minister that almost all the campuses are being run by contractual staff and demanded permanent position for teaching as well as non-teaching staff so that these campuses would function properly.
Minister Naeem Akhter gave patient hearing to Prof Shohab and assured him that all the problems regarding Jammu University campuses will be looked in a positive manner.
