Patriotic songs, speeches, cultural items mark celebration of Independence Day

JAMMU, Aug 16: Patriotic songs, speeches and cultural items by the students marked the celebration of 66th Independence Day in Government and Private institutions.
66th Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra.
Vice Chancellor Prof RNK Bamezai unfurled the National Flag, followed by National Anthem, march past and cultural programme.
While speaking, Prof Bamezai encouraged the students and the faculty members to take a lead and become a source of inspiration for others.
“It is incumbent upon each member of the SMVDU family to work towards taking the institution to that height so that it is globally appreciated”, he added.
SVS Degree College, Chaan Arorian, district Kathua celebrated 66th Independence Day with zeal and enthusiasm. RL Sharma, Principal of the college hoisted the National Flag, in presence of students and faculty members.
Government Higher Secondary School, Bhoond, celebrated Independence Day with enthusiasm. Principal of the school, Krishan Gopal Sharma hoisted the National Flag, followed by National Anthem and cultural programme.
66th Independence Day was celebrated at Government Higher Secondary School, Sangaldhan, Ramban. Principal of the institution, RL Bhat, unfurled the National Flag, followed by cultural items.
Government Higher Secondary School, Narraribala, Akhnoor, celebrated Independence Day. Principal Nirmal Abrol hoisted the National Flag, followed by National Anthem, march past and cultural programme.
Independence Day was celebrated at Army Camp, Assar, Doda with great enthusiasm. Harbans Lal Chowdhary, Principal, Government Higher Secondary School, Assar hoisted the National Flag followed by National Anthem, march past and cultural programme.
Government Higher Secondary School, Bahu Fort celebrated 66th Independence Day with great pomp and show. Principal Mumtaz Akhtar hoisted the National Flag in presence of students and faculty members. Books, bags and other student related items were also distributed among students.
Independence Day was celebrated amidst fun and gaiety in the premises of Presentation Convent Senior Secondary School, Gandhi Nagar. Principal of the school, Sr Rosamma, hoisted the National Flag, followed by tributes to the erstwhile martyrs of the nation, by the management, students and teachers.
Maharaja Harisingh DAV Centenary Public School, Akhnoor celebrated 66th Independence Day with patriotic fervour. Principal of the school S Sharma unfurled the National Flag, followed by National Anthem and march past.
66th Independence Day was celebrated at Vishwa Bharti Higher Secondary School, Akalpur. Secretary College of Education JL Koul along with treasurer Jammu units Dr SK Koul and Principal of the institution BMS Pathania hoisted the National Flag, followed by National Anthem and cultural programme.
