SAMBA, Aug 16: An elderly man was crushed to death under a goods train at Vijaypur in district Samba this afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as 70-year-old Anand Kumar, son of Mir Chand, resident of Ward No. 8 Vijaypur. The mishap took place when he was crossing the rail track near Gate No. 3. A goods train which was passing from the platform, crushed him to death on the spot. Later, Railway police removed his body to local hospital and later handed over to the family after performing legal formalities.
