Cardamom futures extend losses on subdued demand

NEW DELHI, July 6:  Falling for the second straight day, cardamom prices declined further by 0.30 per cent to Rs 819.10 per kg in futures market today as participants indulged in trimming positions, tracking a weak trend at spot market on sluggish demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in in August month fell Rs 2.50 or 0.30 per cent to Rs 819.10 per kg in business turnover of 99 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in July contracts shed 20 paise or 0.02 per cent at Rs 825.00 per kg in 36 lots.
Market analysts said offloading of positions by participants, triggered by subdued demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position mainly kept cardamom prices lower at futures trade. (PTI)
