JAMMU, July 8: Police today arrested a person with 40 pouches of illicit liquor from Kather area falling under the limits of police post Manwal.
According to a police spokesperson, the man was intercepted on suspicion during naka checking at Kather by Manwal police.
On interception of the accused, who has been identified as Rumaal Singh son of Bajitar Singh, a resident of Chillana (Manwal), 40 pouches of illicit liquor hid in a black bag were recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, a case FIR no 73/15 u/s 48 A Excise Act has been registered against the accused at police post Manwal.
The arrest and recovery was made by SI Tribhavan Khajuria, Incharge, police post, Manwal under the supervision of DSP Nagrota, Bharat Bhushan Sharma, SHO Jhajjar Kotli, Inspector Ravinder Singh and Incharge SSP Jammu, Rajiv Panday.
