JWO holds protest against irregular power, water supply

JAMMU, July 10: Jammu Welfare Organization (JWO), Unit Roop Nagar Enclave, Jammu, today held a public demonstration under the leadership of its president, Kasturi Lal Gupta at Enclave Chowk to highlight the plight of residents of the area owing to erratic power scenario, irregular water supply and over flooding of lanes with even normal showers.
The protesting residents invited the attention of the Chief Engineer (Electrical), to ensure proper supply of electricity in the area without unscheduled cuts and single phase voltage which also affected regular and timely supply of water from the water reservoirs.
Also concerned over the problem of flood water gushing into the residential lanes and even houses, the protestors called on Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Commissioner (JMC), Sojanya Sharma, and explained him the problems being faced by the residents along with remedial measures required to be adopted.
After due discussions and considerations of suggested measures, JMC Commissioner promised to look into the problems of the residents on war footing.
Concerned authorities of PDD and PHE departments were also apprised of the pathetic condition of residents and they also assured of taking remedial measures.
The organization warned the concerned authorities that if their problems were not solved immediately, they will be forced to start a strong agitation against them.
Among others who attended the protest are PL Raina, BS Guleria, Raj Kumar Wali, JP Chadha, Ved Parkash, Chander Kumar Uppal, Ashok Kumar, Jagdish Bhat, MK Watal and Manav Nagar.
