SAMBA, July 11: To take the stock of the situation created due to yesterdays floods, I G, BSF Rakesh Sharma today visited Rangoor Camp in Ramgarh sector where two border posts of BSF were marooned in flood waters of Basantar after breach in the river bund.
The IG who was accompanied by senior officers of BSF took stock of the situation there and interacted with jawans and officers also. He said the detailed report will be sent to higher authorities in this regard. He said necessary steps will also be taken at local level to tame the river and strengthen the bund by taking the issue with local administration.
The local officers briefed the IG about the situation arisen due to the flash floods in the area after the breach of river bund. They also apprised him of the timely action taken by the BSF jawans to save the arms and ammunition from being washed away.
They valour and courage displayed by the Jawans on the occasion was highly praised by the IG.
