SAMBA, July 12 Manju Balla, wife of martyr Sub Ram Singh of 6 Dogra Bn. who sacrificed his life during the militants attack in Manipur on  June 7  this year accused the State Government of totally ignoring the martyrs family.
Expressing her concern over the attitude of State Government towards the martyrs family at a press conference at Vijaypur today she said that no Minister including the concerned MLA bothered to visit the family and see its plight during last over one month.
She said the coalition Government led by Mufti Mohammad Sayeed totally ignored the family whose one member laid down his life for national unity and integrity.
She said the colleagues of her husband belonging to neighbouring States of Punjab and Himachal who also sacrificed their lives were given relief by the respective Governments but the Jammu and Kashmir Government did not pay any attention towards the hapless family. She said that had a militant been killed in Kashmir the Government would have immediately paid compensation to the family while the family of the martyr is being neglected.
She said it is  the responsibility of Government bringing up her two children whose responsibility is also on her frail shoulders. “I have not been given any benefit of the welfare schemes announced for families of martyrs. I had no other source of income but somehow was managing the circumstances. Government should provide a job to me and free education for my children”, she added.
