MUMBAI, July 13:
Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has seen many highs and lows in a career spanning four decades, but the actor says the most arduous battle a celebrity has to face is that of demotion.
The 72-year-old “Piku” star believes that one needs a lot of guts to survive through the phase of loosing success.
“Celebrity hood is no different from a champion… The day you loose the success, you shall be relegated to the background and some one else, someone else bigger and better shall occupy the chair which you had warmed for several years, never expecting it to be snatched away,” he wrote on his blog.
Bachchan drew the comparison between the celebrity hood and a champion while discussing about World number one Novak Djokovic’s win over Swiss star Roger Federer in Wimbledon final.
“It is the toughest battle that a celebrity faces.. Lauded and applauded with unprecedented love and affection one day and then another day its all gone… Gone to another. You need the strength of a bull a skin of a rhino and the roar of a lion to understand the phenomena that unfolds.
“It needs guts to withstand the demotion, to seek its acceptance with grace and dignity… And to realise before long, its presence and its eventuality. We shall all go through this… And we shall learn to survive within it…” he concluded. (PTI)
